Raising the Most Funds by Raising Your People

Since 1992, Capital Funding Services has been partnering solely with LCMS congregations and agencies to help them raise funds for capital expansion or debt retirement. Louisiana Church’s Dream for Children’s Center Comes to Fruition

Assisted by many LCEF services, including CFS for its capital stewardship campaign, members of Bethany Lutheran Church in Slidell, La., are building on their dream: an Open Arms Child Development Center.

Rural Church Gets Modern Updates

Though attendance at St. Paul Lutheran in Brandon, Minn., averages 15, the congregation is determined to grow. Established in 1900, the current building has the same amenities it always has, which means no running water, kitchen or inside bathrooms. A loan from LCEF helped the congregation build all of this and a fellowship area. The congregation is excited and restarted its vacation Bible school last summer. The congregation’s positive energy is a good example of how rural congregations can begin work on revitalization and renewal.

Design Expresses Congregation’s Purpose

The congregation at St. John, Kimball, Minn., used Capital Funding Services and an LCEF loan to build a new contemporary country church. This new structure reminds congregation members of their purpose every time they enter.

Strong Faith Leads Texas Church’s Funding Campaign

The congregation of Acts Church Lakeway recently met a crossroads and certain milestones in attendance had not been reached. God recharged the congregation with a new pastor, Rev. Peter Mueller, and an opportunity to purchase a former retail building, saving time on construction. To raise the funds needed to purchase the property and building, LCEF’s Rev. John Kieschnick led this small-but-mighty group through a Capital Funding Services campaign.

Congregation Renews Commitment to Stewardship

Mount Olive Lutheran Church and School is the only Lutheran elementary school in Des Moines, Iowa. Members participated in Consecrated Stewards to become fiscally healthy and spiritually engaged. Mount Olive is projected to have 14% more income during the year.

New Stewardship Bible Study Available

Bring Christ’s message of sharing and caring into your congregation’s conscious stewardship efforts. Order “Journey of Discovery" online at www.cph.org/discovery. This Bible study resource is engaging and interactive and will help church and small-group ministry members connect with each other and Christ.

Vibrant Schools, Kids Heart of New Programs

LCEF knows how important Lutheran education is to the future of the Synod. Helping schools flourish and grow are LCEF’s School Marketing Resources and K.I.D.S. Count curriculum. For more information about either of these programs, call 1-800-843-5233 or visit www.lcefmarketing.com or www.lcefkids.org.

Ensure a Joyful Response® Even During Vacations

If a significant share of your congregation members is still placing cash and checks into the offering plate, your church may be missing valuable offerings when families leave town for holidays and vacations. Offer members an automated way to fulfill their financial stewardship commitments: LCEF's Joyful Response®. It’s free for LCMS organizations and easy to use for both congregation members and office staff.

Demographics, Mailing List Services Upgraded

LCEF has partnered with a new demographics data source, MissionInsite, in order to provide a more convenient and versatile way of gathering information critical to developing ministry plans. Some districts will have online access to MissionInsite reports. The national LCEF office provides the service to districts without access. Find out more about this exciting change.

Partners Provide Funds, Steeples, Lutheran Symbols

With a church renovation or new construction project, there is a long list of details. For help with everything from start (campaign readiness study) to finish (furnishing the altar and worship space), Concordia Publishing House (CPH) and LCEF are your partners for creating the space needed and reverent atmosphere expected. See the CPH Church Renovations Web site, or the loan or Ministry Services areas of LCEF’s Web site to find out about all of the resources we have to offer your congregation.
